Classes In South Manchester




I run four-weekly birth preparation courses (10 hours spread over 4 weeks - 7.30pm to 10pm) from my home in the Old Trafford neighbourhood of Manchester.  Sessions are small, welcoming, friendly and relaxed. 


Spaces are limited and fill up quickly as I can only accommodate a small number of couples per course so pre-booking your place is essential! 

I also offer private 1-1 sessions for couples who prefer to do the course by themselves.  I can travel to your home or you can come to me (distance depending).

Group sessions are £247 per couple.


Private sessions for couples wanting full 1-1 support are £397. 


I also offer 2-hour refresher sessions for £87 and 3-hour intensive sessions for £117.


The prices include all the literature and audios which accompany the course, as well as refreshments. 

I must mention here that should any sad and unexpected circumstances arise after pre-booking onto the course (miscarriage/loss of your baby), and you will therefore not be attending the course, you will be entitled to a full refund of your pre-paid deposit.

If you cannot attend on the dates above, I am happy to offer you private 1-1 classes at a reduced rate of £247 instead of £327. This offer ends in December 2019.  I will try my best to organise sessions on dates most convenient for you.

WEEK ONE (Group or Private Session)

In the first week you will be learning all about the power of relaxation and self-hypnosis for labour and birth.  We will talk about the mind/body connection and its impact on the birth process, the hormones associated with birth and the importance of positive language.  You will also learn powerful breathing techniques to use during your baby's birth. In addition, you will be given relaxation audios to listen to at home. 



In week two we focus on the importance of your birth setting, how to create a birth environment that feels private, safe and familiar to you, how to create your perfect birth team and how they can best support you before and during your baby's birth.



This week is all about how you can prepare emotionally and physically for your baby's birth, how to bond with your baby in the womb and how to manage stress during pregnancy and labour.  You will also learn about pre-labour interventions, what to do if you go passed your "due date" and the power of positive touch and massage during pregnancy and labour.


In the final week, the focus is on the different stages of labour, what to expect during each stage and how you can navigate through each one calmly and confidently. You will learn about what to do if your original birth plan takes an unexpected turn and how to make informed choices so that the outcome can still be just as positive for you and your baby.  We will also focus on the different breathing techniques used during each stage of labour and how best to deal with any distractions so that you can remain positive, peaceful and centred throughout the entire birth process. In addition, we will talk about what happens after your baby is born and touch on post-natal elements of nurturing a happy and healthy baby as well as how to take care of your own well-being as parents.
